This modern new home was designed for a very steep block of land on the hills above the highway in Old Beach Tasmania. The front section of the dwelling sits out proud of the rear grounded section and appears to be floating above the ground. This was done not just for looks but to reduce ground works costs. The structural timber frame is of lightweight construction with a combination of external cladding types. High levels of insulation & careful consideration on the building placement have again resulted in a very energy efficient home.
