My client wanted me to design him a very modern, cost effective 2 bedoom home for his beach block in Carlton Beach Tasmania. We came up with this 'pod'! The total floor area is just under 100m2 but features an open plan living area, 2 bedrooms with built-in robes, a very large bathroom & laundry, and a north facing gallery corridor. The floor plan is perfectly suited for another 'pod' to be built along side of this one in the future with a glazed breezeway link. The energy assessment came in at a whopping 8 stars! We managed to achieve this rating still using standard studwork, concrete slab on ground & higher levels of insulation. My client should not have to heat or cool this home year round.
