My client came to me after purchasing a magical waterfront block of land at Old Beach Tasmania. Situated directly on the foreshore with magnificent views of the water to the east & south. In the purchase of the land came a set of plans for a kit home & the steel frame already constructed & laying on the floor of a workshop! But, the design of the kit home was simply awefull & did not take advantage of the views or the northerly aspect. Instead we redesigned a new dwelling around the steel frame. The result is a completely customized design with wow factor! The dwelling is now designed to take as much advantage of the views & sun as is physically possible. At some 40+ squares & over 120 m2 of external deck this house is impressive. With features such as 5 bedrooms, double garage, 2 bathrooms, 2 powder rooms, formal entry with high void ceiling & sculptural skeleton stair, rumpus room, study area, home theatre room, a massive living / dining area with high raked ceiling, gourmet kitchen & a master bedroom suite akin to a top of the range boutique hotel with its own private balcony, this house is going to be a stunner! Externally, vertical fins break-up the long roof into sections & provide wonderful shadow play on the dwelling with the sweeping sun. All materials chosen are for low maintenance. Double glazing enables the windows to be large to take advantage of the views & sun & also be energy efficient.
