Sitting high above the water at Taroona Tasmania is this modern energy efficient house designed in conjunction with Hobart architect Andrew Williamson of IDW Architects P/L. The house was designed for a steep rocky block of land that was originally excavated some 30 years earlier & had sat idle ever since. It features marvelous views of the river Derwent & faces due east. It receives near full sun all day of which is collected via solar panels on the roof. The deck is sun drenched & is a perfect place to enjoy a wine on a warm summers evening. Many new building materials were used in the construction that will not require ongoing maintenance. Making this house a very relaxing, family oriented place to live. Structural design was by Aldanmark Engineers P/L.
