I love how this extension has totally transformed the appearance & livability of the original humble 2 bedroom home in Midway Point Tasmania. The house enjoys the most magical views of the adjacent bay & is sited ideally to take advantage of the sunlight from sunrise to sunset. My clients list of requirements were: extra bedrooms, a master bedroom suite, open plan living / kitchen / dining, rumpus room, enlarge the garage & to create a link between the inside & outside. The main difficulty with this house was that the existing floor plan was quite small & an odd shape. Due to planning & budget constraints we needed to design the extension to be in line with the existing floor plan. After the stair location was decided the rest of the design came together quite easily. The home has a high energy rating yet was constructed using standard construction techniques & materials.
